Our fantastic week in P5

This week we studied another of Robert Burns’ poems. It is called ‘To a Mouse’. The poem describes a time when Robert Burns was out farming and came across a little mouse. Burns accidentally destroyed the mouse’s nest and felt sorry for it. However, the poem ends with a twist as Burns realises that the mouse is luckier than people because it does not have to worry about the past or the future.

In music we have started to prepare for our Chinese New Year assembly. We listened to some Chinese music and tried to identify some of the traditional Chinese sounds. We are looking forward to making our own Chinese music.

Within our maths work we have been learning about co-ordinates. We discussed the main rule that, when using co-ordinates, you have to go along and then up.
