Primary One traveled to the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh to participate in the ‘Art in the Park’ programme. We spent the day learning about botany, the study of plants. We then went on to visit the glass house to sketch some flowers like the ‘bird of paradise’. After lunch, we got to the real task which was to do some felting. We used strands of sheep’s wool to create a picture and we soaked it with water. Then we had to use our muscles to press, press, press the fibers together. Our felts are not quite finished yet but we will continue next week.
What a great day out!
