P5 worked extremely hard over the last few weeks to create and develop their own creative dances. Each dance group chose who and how many others to work with, a name, a theme and music to use. They began by creating a short sequence with input from all group members then developed this to either tell a story or showcase their talents. All of the dances were completely unique and all equally as impressive. The groups performed their routines to the class and received feedback from Mrs Green and another dance group. They then considered the feedback given and adjusted their routines before most groups performed again to the infant classes. The groups were so pleased with their routines that they wanted to do a further performance for our visiting PE teachers, highlighting their most successful parts within the process, considering how they worked through challenges and issues and providing starting points and next steps for the next time they participate in creative dance activities. Most of the pupils enjoyed their experience and for those who found it a challenge they developed a sense of pride in what they had created. Well done everyone!
