We found out that Roman children liked playing games such as hopscotch and chess. They played with dolls and had mini chariot races with their chariots pulled by goats or dogs! They also played a throwing and catching game called Trigon, where players stood at each corner of a triangle, throwing balls at each other without warning. This game tests your powers of concentration. We are going to give this game a try next week!
We also learned that Romans enjoyed playing board games and often used dice. Yesterday we made our own cube dice using a variety of technology skills. Instead of dots on each side of the dice we wrote Roman numerals!
