Last week Primary 7 had the most exciting week of the whole year when we attended PGL Dalguise. Here is a blow by blow report of the adventures we had. We left here on Monday morning everyone was feeling very excited about the fun things we knew we would get up to when we got there. We put on our seatbelts and before we knew it we had arrived. Waiting for us at the entrance of the camp, waving with a big smiley face was our group leader Emma. Our first obstacle to overcome was pulling our bags and cases up what seemed like a mountain to reach our accommodation, Ordie. We settled in but there was no time to spare because we had our first important activity for the day, LUNCH! After lunch we got into our groups and headed off to our activities. We had so many activities to do over the week that were all so fun, here are some of our favourites: Giant Swing , Catwalk, Raft Building, Canoeing, Trapeze and lots more. As well as our day time activities we had evening events. These included Ambush, Cluedo, Campfire and Splash! We particularly enjoyed Splash, we had to take care of our water babies all day. If it survived our day time activities and a fall from a 30ft drop we could throw the water balloon at Emma. Unfortunately only one survived and Emma didn’t get very wet! Overall our week at Dalguise was amazing and we all really enjoyed ourselves! At the time we didn’t want to leave and would love to go back one day. Here are some of our thoughts about our amazing week: “It was really, really fun and the activities were so good. The staff were amazing!” – Mandy “It was fandabbydozey and my favourite activity was the sensory trail!” – Lisbet “Dalguise was the best experience I have had. My favourite activity was the giant swing” – Jennifer “I had so much fun doing all the activities especially when my groups water baby survived the big drop and we got to throw it at Emma!” – Eilidh “The food was flabbergastingly good. My favourite meal was the fish and chips and apple crumble” – Aadil “It was the best week EVER!!” – Primary 7 2013/2014 “The children were learning while achieving personal goals and having so much fun at the same time which is what it is all about. They created special memories which they will always remember and treasure. I received so much praise about the children from not only PGL staff but from other teachers who were attending the camp with their own classes. The children’s enthusiasm and model behaviour was apparent from the start of the week until the end and I was extremely proud of each and every one of them!! I really enjoyed my week at camp too. A big thank you to Mrs Jones, Ms McMaster, Miss Scales and Mrs Marra for supporting us during our time at camp. Well done primary 7! Keep shining!” – Miss Hood
