Mathematics

Number, money and measure: number patterns to 100, counting on in 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, addition and subtraction, introduction to multiplication .

Information handling:Time

Problem solving and mental maths strategies: investigation of patterns and relationships involving shapes or numbers.

 

Literacy and English

Writing: handwriting, note making, personal, functional and imaginative texts,

Reading: personal reading and guided reading, Fry’s words, research tasks.

Listening and talking: Scottish poetry, Show and Tell, “Sharing our Learning” within class.

Modern Langauge: Numbers 1 – 10 in French and German, Greetings in French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

 

Health and Wellbeing

Mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing: Rights Respecting Schools, Circle Time, Internet Safety.

PE: Circuits and fitness.

Food and health: Scottish food, nutrition, food hygiene.

Substance misuse: Safe use of medicines.

 

Sciences

Forces, electricity and waves: Forces and movement.

 

RME

Christianity: Bible stories, Easter

 

Social Studies

People, past events and societies: Robert Burns

People, place and environment: Transport

People, society, economy and business: Wants and Needs

 

 

 

 

Expressive Arts

Art and design: modelling and design activities (related to Transport)

Drama: role play, presenting to an audience

Dance: Scottish ceilidh dancing

Technological developments in society: How transport has progressed through the years

ICT to enhance learning: word processing, independent/paired challenges and research tasks using laptops and the smartboard
