Well done to our amazing school choir who were spreading Christmas cheer at Bathgate Tesco today. We raised £125.20 for school funds! Not bad for an hours work!

Primary 4 enjoying music and singing lessons from Miss Mulholland of the National Youth Choir of Scotland.
Primary 7s have been working closely with Bob and Maria from Software Training Scotland, over the past 10 weeks. They have been learning all about how to create music using a program called Garageband, by pulling tracks apart and reconstructing them again. On Monday the primary 7 pupils shared their learning at assembly and we got to hear some of their music tracks. We were loving the beats so we had to get up and dance. Have a look at our video to see our live jamming session!
Some short videos…..
The Scotland Software Trainers, Bob and Marie, visited our class. They showed us how to make songs with Garageband on the Ipads. We have been asked to reconstruct a song from scratch and had to pick between Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’. We can’t wait to let you hear it once it is finished…although this will take us 10 weeks!!!!!
In Topic we have been learning about WW2. This week’s focus was on Hitler and his rise to power. We had to organise a timeline of events. This was quite easy as it had the dates but it was also very interesting.
In art we created imaginary flying insects for the Flower Show competition. They were all colourfully weird!
In science we tested the theory ‘People with longer arms have longer fingers’. We measured everybody in the class, our teachers and our cleaners and plotted our findings on a scatter graph. Our conclusions are different and we decided that we would need to include more people in our survey before we could decide.
This week we have been enjoying learning about Robert Burns. For our Burns assembly we have been learning to sing the beautiful song ‘My love is like a red, red rose’ the lyrics are below if you would like to have a sing along.
In art this week we have painted pictures of the red rose by learning about the artistic style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The boys and girls have really enjoyed music this week with Mrs Malloch and are looking forward to next week.
Library Van – Andrew visited us this week in class, P5/4 will be going to the library van every second Thursday. Have fun reading at home.
Oh, my love is like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June
Oh, my love is like a melody
That’s sweetly played in tune
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in love am I
And I will love thee still, my dear,
Till all the seas gang dry.
Till all the seas gang dry, my dear,
‘Til all the seas gang dry my, my dear
And the rocks melt with the sun
And I will love thee still, my dear
While the sands of life shall run
But faretheewell, my only love
Oh, faretheewell a while
And I will come again, my love
Tho’ ‘t were ten thousand mile
Tho’ ‘t were ten thousand mile, my love
Tho’ ‘t were ten thousand mile
And I will come again, my love
Tho’ ‘t were ten thousand mile.
