West Lothian Foodbank collection

Over the last 3 weeks we have been collecting food for the West Lothian Foodbank.

We have collected food for people who are struggling to buy and get hold of food.

We had to bring food that can stay in your cupboard and don’t go out of date until next year.

The winning house was Baillee who collected the most food and won 500 house points. Kelly were second with 250 house points and Dardenelles with 125 house points.

We’re very proud of the amount of food we’ve collected especially as we’re not a big school.

A big thank you!

FUN FOOTBALL NIGHT

A huge thanks to Sibbalds for the donation of our superb trophy and medals for our football fun night . Also to all our parents, old and new, who came and supported our  night at Greenrigg  park and played football.

We all had an amazing time and the final was a huge success between the oldies and the school football club, who won the trophy . This is on display in our cabinet at Mrs Millar’s office .

What a superb community spirit we have! With lots of support from family’s donations, we have been able to buy our football club new strips. This could not be possible without the help of Mr W Swan and our parents.  Our strips are ordered and with the money we had left over we  bought lots of super toys for us in the playground. We also bought 2 new sets of goals, football socks, balls, whistles, a football bag, bicycle helmets for our scooters and a brilliant air pump . We will post pictures off our new strip when it arrives.

Celebrating Roald Dahl day

Today we took part in Roald Dahl day. It would have been his 100th birthday today.

We watched a live event all about his writing, his characters and his books. We really enjoyed it.

We even had the chance to draw an Oompa Lompa with Quentin Blake.

We discussed who the most villiest villan was in his books – it’s Miss Trunchball from Matilda.

We had a great afternoon.

Sports Day 2016

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise, participated in and supported our Sports Day on Friday. Unfortunately our races had to be cancelled due to the field still being wet and then it rained too! We were able to have our Potted Sports in the playground. There were 9 stations that teams went around. It was great to see the teams of pupils from P1-7 help each other and cheer each other on. Unfortunately the midges also decided to visit us which was inconvenient but it didn’t dampen the kids spirits! Teams were all working together to get as many House Points for their Houses. The winners will be announced at our Celebration Assembly on Monday.
