What a wonderful day we have had!
This morning, Cosmos Planetarium visited the school. We had an amazing morning exploring the sun, moon and stars. We were taken on a journey into space, landed on the moon and looked at what space travel might look like in the future. We also took part in a rocket launch with Tim Peake! It was very exciting.
We then made some of our own rockets with our table partners, using the junk that was sent in from home (thank you to those who sent in junk!). We made lots of interesting rockets with lots of detail! We can’t wait for you to see them on Thursday at the open morning!
After break, we did some writing and made our own Space Passports, in case we ever need to go into space.
We enjoyed some time in the shared area today, making rockets with the construction blocks and pretending we were on a space mission on the climbing frame. We enjoyed reading some books about space and drew some pictures about what we learned.
After lunch, we learned about constellations. James knew that these are groups of stars that make a pattern or picture. We looked at some of the constellations in our sky and then made our own, which you can see on Thursday too!
What a great day!
