Primary 6/5 collages

Primary 6/5 have made an excellent start to the year. We have completed two challenges in small teams to help us develope skills for life. We’ll be taking on more challenges throughout the year.

We have taken part in a local art competition. We had to make collages linked to the theme “flying”. We had lots of ideas and enjoyed working with different types of paper to create our own artwork. We hope we’re successful and win

Settling into School for P1

A new start, a class, a new teacher and a new environment has been what the children of primary one have had to deal with over the last two weeks. They are all settling in well and over the next few weeks will be learning lots of new things from finding out about themselves and feelings to literacy.
This week during big book time all children got to talk about the things they like about school.
Kimberley says, ” I love it how we get to choose our own choosing activity.”
Brendan loves being the milk monitor and all the children enjoying using the finger gym.
This week the children will be in school for lunch and the afternoon and the P7 buddy’s will be there to support the children.

P5/4’s 2 stars and a wish…

We have been learning that there are 7 continents: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Antarctica and Oceania. We have also been learning that Rome is the capital city of Italy, that Italy is shaped like a high heeled boot and it is also a part of Europe.

Next week we will be learning how and when the city of Rome was founded and named.

Primary 7 had a fantastic week at school!

This week we have started our topic of World War 2. We began to learn about countries involved. We have also finished our collages for the Flower Show and are super excited about entering the competition. Mr Henry, our new art teacher, taught us how to shade in a negative space. Our new PE topic is net games and we have had a few badminton keepie-uppie challenges already.

We have had a great week but we are desperate for the weekend as we are super tired. Our teachers have worked us to the bone to the bone, but we can’t wait for next week! blog
