I challenged Jodie to write a poem as good as some of the work we had looked at by other schools, at the Poppy Factory. This was the result:
Think she did a fantastic job. What do you think?
Children in P6/7 wanted to say a special thank you to the staff at the Lady Haig Poppy Factory after a fantastic trip yesterday. They made this card for staff. Please take the time to read the poems and messages from the children.
P6/7 would like to thank those who helped in our bring and buy sale. We raised over £300 which will enable us to sponsor a child for a year. Please watch this space for more news on this.
Primary 6/7 had a fantastic morning spent with the ex service men, at the Lady Haig Poppy Factory. Children learned the significance of the poppy and how the money raised is used to help ex service men, woman and their families in times of need. They were able to chat with the ex service men working there and take part in making some poppies themselves. The men at the factory also made a wreath for our school, with our school badge, which we will be able to display in the school.
Each year, the school reports on how well we are doing. We value the partnership with parents and that is why it is important to share our standards and quality report with you.
Below are two files that you can download that inform you of the progress the school has made; a summary document and the school’s full standards and quality report. If you would like anything clarified, please contact the school via the usual channels.
