P2/3 HWB – Monday 11th May 2020

During this uncertain time, it is very important that we keep healthy, active and spend time with the people that we love.

Your health and well-being task this week is a task that you can complete with your family members.

I challenge you to make heart shaped cookies and give them to the people you love.

Ingredients

  • 100g butter, softened
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 170g plain flour
  • Ready made coloured icing tubes and edible decorations (optional)

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4 and line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
  • Beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy, and work in the flour to make a stiff dough. You may find it easier to do this with your hands.
  • Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth. Roll out to the thickness of a pound coin, and using well-floured heart shape cutters, stamp out a dozen hearts.
  • Carefully transfer to the baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Leave to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes to firm up, before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
  • Once they are completely cool, decorate with the ready made icing. You could pipe alternating dots or your own pattern or sprinkle with some edible decorations.

Enjoy!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely relaxing weekend. This week we are going to use the same grids as last week as you only had 2 and a half days last week. Your spelling words are also the same to allow for more time to learn how to spell your Human Body related words.

I will attach the grids and spelling words to this post again for convenience.

For literacy this morning I would like everyone to log onto Sumdog and complete the Grammar Challenge i have set for you all. This focuses on different aspects for the different groups.

Following this, spend 15 minutes reading a book of your choice.
