E.R.I.C Book Talks in P6/7

Our P6/7 learners have been delivering book talks during the past few weeks.  We have had some excellent presentations so far.  Today, one of our learners went over and above and created a great PowerPoint presentation to go along with her talk.  We’d recommend viewing the slide show fully to experience the animations!  Well done to this enthusiastic learner!

P6.7 Writing Assessment Thursday 21st October

Writing – Description Assessment – Thursday 21st October

Last session we learned a lot about the different features of a description text.  We used our 5 senses to explore a variety of things such as Irn Bru and Scottish Macaroons!

You will be completing a writing assessment on Thursday to see how much your writing has improved.  To complete this assessment you should bring in a special item from home to write about.

The item should be something you can see, touch, smell, hear and taste.  It might be that the item reminds you of a taste.  For example, I might bring in my favourite mug.  When I look at my favourite mug my mouth is filled with the taste of delicious tea and tangy ginger biscuits!

Some ideas of items you might want to bring in:

  • A favourite toy
  • A shoe (your first baby shoe or your favourite pair)
  • An ornament
  • A piece of jewellery
  • Your favourite food

These are just some examples, you may have a much better idea!

Anything valuable can be locked in the cupboard until you need the item and until you are ready to take it home again.

Make sure that whatever you choose is something that inspires you to write a fabulous description! J

P6/7 Learning Activities Thursday

This week we tasked pupils with asking 100 people what makes them happy and what makes them sad.  This was not an easy task but we now have LOTS of data to help us with our festival!

It’s now time to organise our data by writing an informative report!

Informative Report – What makes people happy & sad

We realised that it may have been easier to work together to collect the data.  There’s plenty data to be found on Teams if you didn’t manage to get many responses!
