The Bear Cubs really enjoyed learning all about the people who help us every day through their topic. They really enjoyed bandaging each other up as well using the stethoscope to hear our heart beats.

We also really enjoyed the Wig Walk where we walked to the swings and back and had a great time!!

Primary 2/3/4 are going mobile!

As part of our communications topic, Primary 2/3/4 investigated the history of the telephone on Monday morning. We thought about how the technology has developed so we can use smartphones today. We then designed our own phones, thinking about what features they might have, and built them using Lego or connecting cubes.

You can see some of our efforts in the pictures

Primary 1/2

Primary 1/2 had a great start to the year.  They have been working hard learning lots of new things.  In Literacy the boys and girls have been practicing their reading and learning lots of new spelling patterns and Fry’s words.  In Maths they have been learning all about pictograms and we made our very own pictogram to go on our classroom wall.  Primary 1/2  did a great job at sharing lots of facts about themselves and their family during their topic’ All about Me’ and were very confident performing and sharing information  at their first Class assembly.  I set them a homework challenge and was amazed to see how much hard work had gone into their family tree.  Well done boys and Girls.

P1/2 also entered our community CAB competition which includes the other 3 schools in the area.  I was very proud to hear that one of our Primary 1’s won the competition and will have her picture placed in this year’s calendar.  Well Done.

This term we will be very busy with our book project ‘The Gruffalo’, learning about anti bullying and road safety and also practicing for our school Nativity.
