We have had (yet another!) fantastic book talk in P6/7 this week. This learner created a great presentation to go along with her chosen book which we are sure you will all enjoy! Well done Zoe! View the PowerPoint here> Eric talk the worlds worst children
We can’t wait to see what our P6/7 learners have in store for us with this home learning challenge! We have some new faces in our class now so it’s time to make some new memories! If you want to relive the old memories from P2, you can see some here!
Our P6/7 learners have been delivering book talks during the past few weeks. We have had some excellent presentations so far. Today, one of our learners went over and above and created a great PowerPoint presentation to go along with her talk. We’d recommend viewing the slide show fully to experience the animations! Well done to this enthusiastic learner!

Writing – Description Assessment – Thursday 21st October
Last session we learned a lot about the different features of a description text. We used our 5 senses to explore a variety of things such as Irn Bru and Scottish Macaroons!
You will be completing a writing assessment on Thursday to see how much your writing has improved. To complete this assessment you should bring in a special item from home to write about.
The item should be something you can see, touch, smell, hear and taste. It might be that the item reminds you of a taste. For example, I might bring in my favourite mug. When I look at my favourite mug my mouth is filled with the taste of delicious tea and tangy ginger biscuits!
Some ideas of items you might want to bring in:
These are just some examples, you may have a much better idea!
Anything valuable can be locked in the cupboard until you need the item and until you are ready to take it home again.
Make sure that whatever you choose is something that inspires you to write a fabulous description! J
This week we tasked pupils with asking 100 people what makes them happy and what makes them sad. This was not an easy task but we now have LOTS of data to help us with our festival!
It’s now time to organise our data by writing an informative report!
Informative Report – What makes people happy & sad
We realised that it may have been easier to work together to collect the data. There’s plenty data to be found on Teams if you didn’t manage to get many responses!
Check in 9:15, Coaching Conversations 11:15-12:15 (Check your time on the Better Together team!), optional writing support 1:30 and a fun check out at 2:45!
Use the Persuasive SECOND LEVEL pupil-friendly targets to assess your writing (Miss McLuckie will go over this at 9:15 on Teams). Make at least one improvement before posting it on the Better Together Teams page.
P6.7 Numeracy Thurs and decimal place questions
On Monday Paul Gorman wrote us a letter asking questions about a festival we are planning with St Thomas’ Primary. It’s now time for us to Reply to Paul!
Complete Day 3 of the Daily Rigour Calendar alongside an addition number talks.
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. There will be a live session with Miss Anderson on Teams at 1:30pm. Tasks explored can be found here:
Children’s Mental Health Week – Express Yourself
Make sure you access Teams for the daily check in at 9:15 and coaching conversations between 11:15 and 12:15!
