Scottish Government Update to COVID-19 Guidance for Schools and ELC

Following the announcement from the First Minister yesterday that Scotland will move to ‘beyond level 0’ from 9th August 2021, the COVID-19 guidance for schools has been updated.

You can read the full guidance for schools at:

https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-reducing-the-risks-in-schools/pages/overview/

and the guidance for Early Learning and Childcare (Nursery) at:

https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-early-learning-and-childcare-services/

While some restrictions regarding self-isolation and contact tracing of positive cases will change, the guidance requires many of the current COVID secure restrictions to remain for a period of at least six weeks.

I will now work on updating our COVID Secure Risk Assessment and procedures and aim to  provide further information specific to Woodhead Primary and Nursery Class next week.

I also hope to be in a position to inform Primary 1a parents/carers next week about who will cover the maternity leave.

Kind regards

Mr. Clark
