Woodhead World Tour Week 5 – Greece
Woodhead World Tour 2020
Week 5
It’s Week 5 of our virtual tour around the world and our next stop is……
Greece
Option 1: Carry out these investigations to find out why. Younger children may need some adult support
Have you ever wondered why so many ancient Greek structures are built using columns? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeB5XhQ2FL4

Option 2: The Olympics originated in ancient Greece over 2200 years ago to honour their Gods and because they loved competition. Nowadays, the Olympics happen every 4 years to unite the 5 continents across the world. They were meant to be held in Tokyo, Japan this July. Can you create your own mini Olympic event? Think about what physical skill you want to develop. What equipment would you need? It could be an indoor or outdoor activity. How would you score to decide who wins?
Option 3: Come up with your own idea for an activity based on Greece.
Download the World Tour Passport and stamp the country once you have completed at least one activity.
