P7 Leavers’ Arrangements – Important Update

Thank you to all of the parents/carers who have given feedback about our plans for Primary 7 Leavers’.  After careful consideration, we are pleased to let you know that we have added an opportunity for P7 children to come to school before the end of term if they want.

We are unable to have an ‘outdoor assembly’ as some people have suggested due to the large number of people this would include. With all P7s plus at least one guest, that would be over 100 people.  In line with Scottish Government guidelines, mass gatherings are still not permitted.  It would also be impossible to have a back-up option if the weather was bad.

What will happen?

On Wednesday 24th June 2020, all P7s can come to school in small groups.  They will be able to collect any work or belongings left in school, see some of their friends and teachers and be presented with a Leavers’ envelope.  Staff will take a few photographs and share these online afterwards.

When time will it be?

There will be three time slots to choose from, (11am, 11.30am and 12pm).  Each time slot will last for 20 minutes.

How will you ensure Social Distancing?

Children should arrive at the Main Entrance where cones will be set out to wait.  Upon entry, children will use hand sanitiser and be taken by staff to their classroom.  Remember that classrooms look different now as desks are spaced apart.

Unfortunately, we still can’t allow visitors into the school, so parents/carers will need to wait or come back to collect children.

At the end of the session, children will be dismissed from the P2 doors near the amphitheatre.  A maximum 1 parent per child is welcome to wait in the playground to meet their child – again, this is to ensure safe social distancing.

Where do I book?

Please book online at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/woodhead-primary-7-visit-tickets-109801272562

Will the other events still go ahead?

The online presentation on Monday 22nd June at 11am will still go ahead, ensuring any children who do not wish, or are unable to come to school, can still be included.
