Massive Hallside Medal Haul

The Hallside Athletics squad had a hugely successful day at the Cambuslang and Rutherglen Track and Field Championships today.

In total they won a brilliant 19 medals. Here is a list of who won what:

P7 Boys 4 x 100m Relay Team Silver

P7 Girls 4 x 100m Relay Team Bronze

P6 Boys 4 x 100m Relay Team Bronze

Heather Jackson Bronze 100m, Andrew Greenen 2nd 600m, Lucy Rosenbloom Silver 600m, Sheree Dunsmore Bronze Javelin, Kyle Moffat Bronze 100m, Jamie Main Bronze Javelin.

Ryan Stephen won his event to become the area champion – Ryan Stephen Gold 600m.

Well done to all the medal winners and every member of the team who competed  brilliantly, in  terrible weather condition, and in the proper spirit, typical of our Hallside pupils.

Cross Country Team Announced

Hallside will be taking their biggest ever cross country team to the Cambuslang and Rutherglen Sports Council Cross Country Event on 8th March at Lifestyle Eastfield.

With so many athletes putting in brilliant qualifying times in last week’s trials, the team is as follows:

P6 Girls – Milan Graham, Lauren Marshall, Eilidh McEwan, Courtney Shields, Megan Muir, Melissa Keary, Zoe Yeung, Heather Jackson, Abbie Dunnett, Sophie Crichton

P6 Boys – Kieran Stewart, Andrew Greenan, Cameron Eardley, Adam Costello, Ewan Kennedy, Lewis Cameron, Robbie Hemfrey, Ewan Little, Dean Rodgers, Ryan Havlin

P7 Girls – Lucy Rosenbloom, Angela Aiton, Courtney McGowan, Lauren Muir, Sheree Dunsmore, Holli Boyd, Jodie O’Raw

P7 Boys – Ryan Stephen, Andrew Lindsay, Trey Morrison, Marco McGillivray, David Thompson, Cameron Fulton, Peter Zhou, Callum McGhee, Kyle Williamson

There will be two training sessions after school on Wed 29th Feb and Wed 7th Mar.

Gruelling Cross Country Trials

Well done to all the P6 and P7 boys and girls who, on Thursday and Friday, completed the gruelling 1.2km course around the school as part of the cross country trials.

Everyone completed the course and were very supportive of each other, cheering on the first people over the line and encouraging everyone across the finish line.

Mr Campell and Mrs Stephen are currently working on who will make it into the team for the Cambulang and Rutherglen Sports Council Cross Country Event on Thursday 8th May.

Hallside Athletics Ranked 4th in South Lanarkshire

Hallside Athletics team last week finished fourth in the South Lanarkshire Finals of the Sports Hall Atheltics Championships.  That ranks Hallside in the top 4 for atheltics in the whole of South Lanarkshire: from Rutherglen all the way to Lesmahagow!

Well done to all of the competitors, and the other members of the squad who have all been training hard every week.  Thanks to Mr Campbell and Mrs Stephen (our parent coach) for all their hard work.
