Super Tuesday

This Tuesday will be huge in Hallside.

9.30am – P7 Graduation

12.30pm – Staff/Parents v Pupils Football Challenge

7.00pm – P6 & P7 Seniors’ Dance

The P7s have been working hard on their graduation show and it is looking like being a cracker.

In the afternoon a team of teachers and parents (which will include Mr Bamford, Mr McKenna, Ms Tees and Ms McMenemy) will take on all of the p7 players from all of the various girls’ and boys’ squads in 4 or 5 30 minute matches.  The staff have been undefeated in the last 10 years will this continue?!?!?  Ask your teacher if your class can come out to watch.  Will you cheer on the pupils or the teachers?  The first game will kick off at 12.30, so you can watch during lunchtime

Then in the evening it’s time to get glammed up and head back to school for some nice food and a dance as the P6s and P7s have their senior’s dance.

Roll on Super Tuesday!

Hallside 2012 Olympic Games – A Gold Standard!

Well done to all of the competitors from p3-7 (and yesterday’s P1 and P2 potted sports) and a huge thank you to all of the family members who came along to cheer us all on.

Beautiful sunshine, 39 races, 370 pupils, 200 parents, hurdles, batons, everyone wearing their nations’ colours, team flags and posters, a torch relay, great music and scooters made into horses (!)          = one great day.

I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Here are the final results:

Kenya – 555

Team GB – 545

Australia – 525

USA – 340

Sports Day

With rain forecast for Thursday we’ve decided to move both sports day events to Wednesday.  P3-4 at 9.30 and P5-7 at 1.30pm.

Remember if you are in Kenya wear green, Great Britain wear blue, USA wear white and Australia wear yellow.

Events include 8x72m relay, the 72m hurdles and the much anticipated equestrian event!

Can’t wait.

Blog Reward

This week’s blog reward is a question again and this time there are two answers, and you’ll need both answers to secure the extra playtime for your class (make you work for those rewards!).

“The Euro 2012 football championships is underway in Poland and Ukraine and I’m enjoying watching lots of games.  The question is what are the two capital cities of Poland and Ukraine.”

Sports Week

Next week sees the annual Hallside Sports Week.  Parents are welcome to come along and watch the events and cheer on the teams.

By now everyone should know what country/coloured team they will be in.

Blue = Great Britain    Green = Kenya    White  =  USA      Yellow = Australia

Diamond Jubilee Blog Reward

I hope everyone is enjoying their Jubilee extended weekend.   Here we go with another blog reward.  This time there is no secret word but a  question to answer.  The first person to either say the answer to me in person tomorrow or post a comment on this blog post will win 10 minutes extra playtime for their whole class!

I am watching some of the Jubilee celebrations just now so the question will be about that –

“Unfortunately the queen’s husband has been ill and has missed the last two days of the celebrations but the question is what is his first name?”

Well done to Zachriya in P5a who was first to post a comment with the correct answer ‘Philip.’

Look out for more Blog rewards soon.
