The latest instalment of the Hallside Radio Show can be heard on Monday 3rd of December between 1pm and 2pm.  You can listen in on 106.6fm or at camglenradio.org.

This will actually be the last ever school broadcast on Camglen it its current format before they take on their 5 year commercial broadcast licence.

On this edition of the show the pupils will be bringing you all of the latest news and sport from around the world and in Hallside as well as tv, games, christmas food and present tips and of course, as always, we’ll have our exclusive Hallside Radio Show interview, this time with Romeo from Radio Clyde.

We will also bring you the exclusive first ever airing of the Hallside Charity Christmas Single, so tune in, or miss out!

Football Boys Off to a Winning Start

The Senior Boys’ Football Team played their opening league fixture on Wednesday and got off to a great start with a 9-2 victory over Spittal.  There were actually 6 of the 9 players making their debuts and they did us all proud.  After a nervy start, where Hallside twice took the lead, before conceding equalisers, they took command of the game and made the 3 points safe.  The team consisted of Andrew Rushbury in goal, Adam Costello and, captain, Andrew Greenen at the back, with Feraz Tanveer helping out there too.  In Midfield we had Keiran Stewart, Lewis Cameron, Rhys Conner and Euan Coleman and up front was Reece Paterson.  Well done to all of the players and to the coach, David Hamilton.  A great start to the defence of the title they won last year.

Charity Christmas Single

Well done everyone for the recordings on Friday.  We managed to get all 550 pupils’ voices recorded  and it sounds brilliant.  It is now just a matter of attempting to edit together the recordings from the two separate assemblies, the actual piano music and some of the soloists picked out by the teachers.

Thanks for all of the entries so far in the competition to design the front cover.  We have been studying them all very carefully.  Any final ones to be handed in should come to me by last thing on Monday and the winner will be revealed soon.

Listen out for the first ever airing of our single – it will be played on The Hallside Radio Show on Camglen Radio 106.6fm and camglenradio.org on Monday 3rd December between 1pm and 2pm.

Hallside Radio Show Success

Well done to the team on their successful radio show this morning.

I need to edit it down as, for rights reasons I will need to remove the majority of the songs, however when I have done that, it will be played on a loop at next week’s parents night and I will post it here, so that anyone can listen back to it at any time.

We included world news and sport, weather, reports on healthy eating and endangered animals, a gadget zone, games reviews, movie reviews, x factor update and we had a great interview with friend of the show and Radio Clyde DJ, Jim Gellatly.

Check back here for the audio soon.  We’d love to get some comments posted too.

Blog Reward

Ok, time to bring back the blog reward (to keep you checking back here!).

If anyone doesn’t remember, I’ll post a secret word or question on my blog and the first person to post the answer as a comment on this blog post, will win.  This time, the prize is a bonus point towards the star class award and that chance for your class to get their hands on the Fair Trade Tuckshop!

(Remember, when you post your answer it doesn’t appear straight away, only when I approve it.  Comments come to me in the order they were posted so I know who is first, but just because there is no comment there doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be first.  Remember to make it clear who you are and what class you are in.  Have a go, you never know!)

You’ll find the answer to today’s question somewhere on the blog:  What was the score when Hallside Hawks played the Burgh Braves this week?
