Sports Day 2013

Well done to all of the pupils and teachers from P3-P7 who spent today competing in the annual sports day.  The sun was shining, the music playing and the children running!

Thank
The afternoon session finished right on 3pm so some of the younger classes may not have heard the final result, so here it is: you to all of the friends and family members who came along to watch and cheer us on.

WOW – Grease IS the Word!

Well done to all of the drama club who were outstanding tonight in their performance of Grease.  The audience were superb (as they were on Tuesday too) and the cast really responded.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed your performance and it was pretty near to perfect!

Very proud of you all!

I always believed!!!

One more tomorrow.

Scottish Football Win on Foreign Soil

Congratulations to Ross Taylor, one of our p5 pupils, who has returned from an under-10s football tournament in Barcelona with a winners medal and huge trophy.

Playing for Scotland Boys Club in the Benjamin Capeόn Festival, he and 7 teamates, took on a team from Finland and two Spanish sides in the group stages.  They won 2 and lost 1, but this was enough to see them through to the semi-finals where they took on another Spanish side called Martorelles, winning 5-1.  This gave them a place in the final and a chance for revenge against Racing Blanc, who had defeated them in the group.  A brilliant final ended 5-3 to the Scotland team.

A rare away victory and silverware for a Scottish team in Europe!

Well done.

Eco Day of Action

Well done to all the pupils, staff and parent volunteers who worked so hard to make a big difference today.

From 60 minutes of darkness and no computers during our earth hour to digging, creating scarecrows, making bird houses and bird feeders, birdwatching, litter picking, recycling and building a bug hotel.  Surely that green flag is sure to follow soon!!!

Here are some pictures from today.  Have a great holiday weekend, I think you’ve all earned a rest.

Weekend competition

Ok, let’s see who is on the blog this weekend. A prize on Monday for whoever gets it first. It’s a predictor so just guess and you’ll need to post your guess BEFORE kickoff.

Which player will score the first goal in the Man Utd v Arsenal match this weekend?

Good luck!

Football Success

Well done to the P7 boys who were invited to play in a P7s football tournament at Stonelaw High School this week.

They finished joint top of the group with 4 wins out of 5, defeating Burgh 3-1, Bankhead A 2-1, Bankhead B 2-0 and Burnside 2-1.  They then lost out in their final game to St Columbkille’s.

The team consisted of:  Robbie Hemfrey, Euan Kennedy, Andrew Greenen, Callum Balsillie, Adam Costello, Lewis Cameron, Rhys Conner, Kyle Miller, Cameron Eardley and Kieran Stewart.

Well done boys.
