Olivia McFarlane, of P6, with her impressive haul of swimming medals: two bronze, two silver and a gold.  She won them using different strokes over different distances showing what a versatile and talented swimmer she is.

Emma Waugh, of P6, was celebrating this week after being named East Kilbride Gymnast of the Year, having also recently travelled to Spain to compete in an international gymnastics events.

Tom Milligan, from P6a, is a rising star in the world of basketball.

Tom is currently “Under11” but plays with an “Under14” team: Glasgow Rocks. This team is part of the amateur set-up that is affiliated with the professional team that plays out of the Emirates Arena. This season Tom and his team played in a West of Scotland league and as a result of finishing in the top 2 they qualified to play in the National Challenge tournament called the “Super 10”. His team went undefeated in this tournament and are now Under14 Scottish champions.

Well done to Morgan Hannah and Abby Lennon who both recently earned their black belt first dan in karate.  Here they are with their certification and their black belts that have their names embroidered on them in Japanese.  Well done girls.

Ross Taylor, of P5a, recently signed his first professional youth contract with Rangers.  A budding star of the future.  Congratulations Ross.

Congratulations to Ross Taylor, one of our p5 pupils, who has returned from an under-10s football tournament in Barcelona with a winners medal and huge trophy.

Playing for Scotland Boys Club in the Benjamin Capeόn Festival, he and 7 teamates, took on a team from Finland and two Spanish sides in the group stages.  They won 2 and lost 1, but this was enough to see them through to the semi-finals where they took on another Spanish side called Martorelles, winning 5-1.  This gave them a place in the final and a chance for revenge against Racing Blanc, who had defeated them in the group.  A brilliant final ended 5-3 to the Scotland team.

A rare away victory and silverware for a Scottish team in Europe!
