Well done to the team on their successful radio show this morning.
I need to edit it down as, for rights reasons I will need to remove the majority of the songs, however when I have done that, it will be played on a loop at next week’s parents night and I will post it here, so that anyone can listen back to it at any time.
We included world news and sport, weather, reports on healthy eating and endangered animals, a gadget zone, games reviews, movie reviews, x factor update and we had a great interview with friend of the show and Radio Clyde DJ, Jim Gellatly.
Check back here for the audio soon. We’d love to get some comments posted too.
The first edition of this year’s Hallside Radio Show will be broadcast on Tuesday 6th November from 10-11am.
We will broadcast on Camglen Radio. You can listen in the Cambuslang and Rutherglen area by tuning int0 106.6fm or, if listening further afield, on camglenradio.org.
We will be following in our tradition of bringing you the latest news from around the world as well as all the latest goings on from inside Hallside. There will be great chat, great music and an interview with a Radio Clyde DJ.
Ms McMenemy had another team of girls from the Girls’ Football Squad away to the Fernhill Complex this week to compete against other schools.
They played against St Columbkille’s, St Charles and Burnside and came out on top.
A number of girls were making their debuts. The team consisted of Heather Jackson, Olivia McFarlane, Amber Dorans, Carys McLynn, Lauren Gorman, Abbie Dunnet, Megan Muir, Jasmine Sattar, Antonia Kenna & Emma Waugh.
Have a good break everyone.
Mr B
Just to clarify that Martial Arts Fitness Club for P4 starts tomorrow Wednesday 10th October. The letter had a typo and was perhaps a little confusing!!!! But as per the original letter Martial Arts is a Wednesday club.
Apologies for any confusion.
Ok, time to bring back the blog reward (to keep you checking back here!).
If anyone doesn’t remember, I’ll post a secret word or question on my blog and the first person to post the answer as a comment on this blog post, will win. This time, the prize is a bonus point towards the star class award and that chance for your class to get their hands on the Fair Trade Tuckshop!
(Remember, when you post your answer it doesn’t appear straight away, only when I approve it. Comments come to me in the order they were posted so I know who is first, but just because there is no comment there doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be first. Remember to make it clear who you are and what class you are in. Have a go, you never know!)
You’ll find the answer to today’s question somewhere on the blog: What was the score when Hallside Hawks played the Burgh Braves this week?
As promised at assembly today, here are details of the football game I was telling you about.

After the tension and hard work of the team trials, today the Athletics Team travelled to their first Indoor Athletics Festival.
They did, as always, conduct themselves in the Hallside way, competing fairly but to the best of their ability and did superbly well. With 13 other schools there and 24 different events, they managed to secure 2nd place in 3 of them and won each of their other races. A superb start. Well done.
Well done to the P5 Rugby teams who performed brilliantly to secure 5th and 6th places out of 16 teams at the recent rugby tournament.
While there, they all met Clyde, the Glasgow Commonwealth 2014 mascot.
Both teams started by playing 3 games in groups of four.
The Hawks defeated St Charles Galaxy 5-1, before losing 4-1 to Killies Killer Bees. They secured 2nd spot in the group with a 6-2 win over the Calderwood Cats.
The Hurricanes controversially lost their opening match 6-3 to St Brides before battling out a 1-1 draw with the St Cadoc’s Warriors. This meant they had to beat James Aiton Jaguars to qualify in 2nd place from the group. They did this with a 6-2 victory.
Both teams then progressed to the semi finals of the 2nd place play offs. The Hurricanes defeated the James Aiton Aces 4-1 and the Hawks recorded a 6-2 win over the Burgh Braves.
This meant that they had to face each other in the 2nd Place Play Off Final. In a brilliant game the Hawks were victorious to secure 5th place overall, with the Hurricanes taking the 6th spot. Every player received a lovely medal and had a great time (in the sunshine – remarkable!).
Well done.
