Girls Lift the Cup

The girls team stunned Garrowhill with a brilliant 6-3 victory in the sunshine this afternoon to lift the All Girls Challenge Cup.  After Hallside raced into a 2-0 lead with two goals by Courtney McGowan, Garrowhill pulled a goal back before half time to make it 2-1 in a first half that was end to end.  Hallside restored their two goal advantage by going 3-1 ahead through Lauren Muir, before being pegged back again at 3-2.  Hallside then piled on the pressure with Milan Graham scoring to go 4-2 ahead, then 5-2 with a strike from Lucy Rosenbloom.  Garrowhill pulled it back to 5-3 and really hemmed in Hallside for the final 5 minutes.  Sheree Dunsmore, the Hallside keeper, blocked a point blank effort from the Garrowhill striker to keep Hallside 2 goals ahead before Hallside scored a 6th in the dying seconds, through Milan Graham, to settle the nerves of their travelling support.

Captain Lauren Muir stepped up to receive the trophy at the end of the game and the crowd went wild.  Congratulations to Heather Jackson who won player of the match.  Well done girls.

Blog Reward

I posted the message below during the week and as I mentioned at assembly today nobody said the secret word, so elephant will no longer work! I will post some other blog reward posts over the next few weeks so keep checking the blog to be the ones that win it!

“I am testing to see how many of you are still checking my blog, so here is the deal: the first pupil to secretly say the code word “elephant” to me will win their whole class extra playtime.

If this works I will try it again on another week.

Good luck.”

Hamster Arrival

Calling all Hallside Hamster owners!

My boys, Jamie and Jude, got their first ever hamster at the weekend.  She is called Georgie.  If any of you have, or have had, hamsters at home and can offer us any advice, please speak to me when you see me in school or post a comment here at the blog (none of us has ever had a hamster before!).  We’ve been reading up in books and on the internet but your hints, tips and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Talent Show Recording Session

Calling all Talent Show singers.

I was so blown away by the quality of performance in the talent show that I am planning to record you all singing using some of the equipment we use for the school radio show, however, due to the drama rehearsal I won’t be able to do this on Friday as orginally planned and will need to move it back to next week.  I’ll keep you posted but keep singing in preparation.
