Curriculum Rationale

When a school has a rationale for its
curriculum, it means that everyone
involved with the school can answer the
questions ‘What is it we want for these
children?’ and ‘What are we going to do
to achieve it?’ (Education Scotland)

In August 2018 we created our Curriculum Rationale for Troon. This has helped ensured that everyone within our school is clear about what we are aiming to achieve, what our key drivers are and our unique qualities that make us such a strong school community.  This will be reviewed and updated during Session 2024-2025.

We wanted our rationale to reflect our local environment and have centred each of the four slides around a tree; this not only reflects our desire to continually grow and improve but also links to Fullarton Woods.

Our desire to ensure every child’s needs are met within an inclusive environment is represented by the ‘Getting it Right For Every Child’ bird and our new Vision, Values & Aims are shared. Looking closely, you’ll see golf, tennis and our beaches are also represented.
