Early Years Centre

Our Early Years Centre is a nurturing, caring and supportive environment for your children to begin their learning journey. Our staff team have created a home from home for the children to explore, grow and develop their skills, confidence and curiosity

Families are able to choose morning, afternoon or full day care. We offer 1140 hours, with provision between 8.00am and 6.00pm.

Planning in the EYC is responsive to the interests of the children and also links to seasonal activities including Scottish Fortnight held in January each year. The early years curriculum is a rich and active one, with a child centred approach in place to allow the children to learn through play and exploration.

To ensure a smooth transition to school, the children access many areas of the main school including the small and large gym, school library and outdoor spaces throughout the year.  A cluster wide transition topic helps to build a sense of community in June each year and prepare the children for the next step in their learning journey.

Our Depute Manager is Mrs McGilp and Miss Barr is our Senior Early Years Practitioner. The staff team are highly skilled, dedicated and experienced.

Our class teachers for 2023 – 2024 are:

  • Miss Gemmell (Mrs Jannetts on maternity leave)
  • Mrs Law (Wednesday am)
