Today we had our Scottish Open Morning and it was a huge success. We invited out families into our classroom and it was a fantastic turn out. We visited a range of Scottish themed work stations such as tartan making and Scottish food tasting. We then moved into the hall and performed our Scottish dance and songs. The feedback was excellent.
On Tuesday the 29th of January at 9:15 am, Primary 1 and Primary 2 will be hosting an open morning for parents. Our focus will be on Scotland. We have been learning about Scotland and what makes Scotland special and unique. We have learned Scottish songs and dances which we will be showcasing. We hope to see you there but here is a sneak peek.
We couldn’t believe it…..but Santa visited St Fergus’ today!!!! We heard bells and then Santa appeared in our class…. it was amazing. We chatted to Santa, sang songs with him and were lucky enough to receive a present too! Thank you very much Santa!
Primary 1 and Primary 2 would like to say a huge thank you to Primary 4/5 for showcasing their amazing musical talent. Primary 4/5 have been learning to play the tin whistle and we all thought they were fantastic. We especially liked Jingle Bells.
Today primary 2 were learning about John The Baptist. They learned how he prepared the people for the birth of Jesus. They also talked about how we could get ready for Christmas Day.
Primary 2 have been working hard in gymnastics this term. They had the chance to work on their skills during a fun obstacle course. They did lots of jumping, rolling, balancing and posing. Jumping was our favourite.
The boys and girls are very good at setting up the gym hall. They always listen carefully to instructions to make sure they are safe in the gym hall.
We had a lovely day celebrating the feast of St. Fergus today. We attended mass at the church with Fr John where we shared all the things we enjoy about our education in St. Fergus’ Primary.
This afternoon we had a celebration in the gym hall. We had sweets and juice and watched a lovely Christmas movie.
last week was book week 2018. In Primary 2 we learned all about different parts of a book. We can identify the title, the aurthor and the illustrator. We also know that we can read the blurb on the back of a book to get a little idea about what the book is going to be about.
We looked at lots of different books and we found the title, author, illustrator, blurb, barcode and price of the book.
later in the week we had a visit from book bug who very kindly presented us with our read, write count bags for 2018. We had lots of fun.
We recieved our bags, filled with lots of nice things.
The digital leaders from primary 7 came into our class to teach us about sumdog. They helped us find the app on our IPAD and they showed us how to log in.
Sumdog is a fun app that helps us develop our maths skills.
In our homework folders next week you will find our log in details so that we can log in at home and play some fun maths games.
