Christmas Craft 🎄🎅🏻🎁

This year our Christmas Craft will be a Chocolate Biscuit Reindeer! We all had so much fun making them!

My favourite part was…

Peyton: “to bash the cookies.”

Alexander: “”when we were just bashing the cookies.”

Milosz: “in the kitchen mixing because it looked like nutella.”

I learned about …

Abbi: “how to make stuff.”

Alan: “to bake chocolate and cake.”

Emily: “how to make Rudolph cakes.”

Chelsea: “how to use a recipe.”

Morgan: “when we were using the butter we were using our measuring skills. We used a set of scales.”

Sara: “We were learning how to be safe with food.”

Dominik: “how to be a chef.”

Next time…

Mia: “Get better at the stirring bit. It got pretty hard when the cookie went in.”

Roman Catapults

Primary 3/4 worked in pairs to create a Roman Catapult. After everyone had made their catapult we launched them in the gym hall! We all had lots of fun creating and using our Catapults. Take a look at our See-Saw for videos of our Catapults!

What were you learning?

Louise: “How to make things.”

Dominik “We were learning about Roman defence and attack strategies.”

Chelsea: “Measure when we were launching them.”

What skills did you use?

Leon: ” We were using our skills to measure and work together.”

Leon: “We were checking how far they went and using our measure skills”

What was the best part?

Holly: “When we were making the catapult.”

Callum: “Making it”

Louise: “Designing it and making it.”

Julia: “When were launching them.”

– Parent Guide to games and activity ideas.

We hope you have a great time using these bags at home!

I’m as tall as a… 🐒🐧🐘

In maths we have started a new topic, Measure.

What did you learn on Monday?

Sara: “We were learning about measure length.”

Mia: “I learned that we could measure lots of stuff. Some are hard some are easy.”

Something very important in this topic is using a ruler properly. Can you remember the rules for using a ruler?

Milosz: “That you don’t start at the beginning you start at the zero on the ruler.”

Louise: “Always put the zero at the start.”

The class worked in small groups to create an animal height chart.

Alan: “1 person held the start, 1 person was gluing in the animals, 1 person was drawing the line and the last person was holding the end.”

Chelsea: “We drew the chalk where the animal was.”

Leon: “We used a measuring tape to see where the animal was because the height was on the picture.”

I’m as tall as a…

Sara: “rhino”
Chelsea: “penguin”

Alexander: “the penguin.”

Leon: “just at the rhino”

Dominik: “the rhino”

Kian: “a was over the penguin”
Emily: “I was as tall as a penguin.”
