Maths is everywhere!

How great do these posters look?!

Primary 3/4 worked really hard in groups on Tuesday afternoon to create a poster that shows how maths is all around us. I can see a lot of people used our recent focus on time as their inspiration, well done!

Wednesday 7th September

First of all, I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!

Here are tonight’s spelling words! Tonight’s spelling activity is Hidden Words. Children will draw a picture with their words hidden somewhere inside. They should just draw into their jotter, so don’t worry about finding blank paper!

Tuesday 6th September

Today in class we have been learning about numbers in everyday life. We worked together in small groups to create some posters to show the school that maths is everywhere.

For homework you should look around your house for 5 different places you have spotted some numbers, the more interesting place the better.

For example in our classroom I can see :

  1. The page numbers inside my favourite book
  2. The reward on our wanted posters
  3. The digital time on my laptop
  4. The date written on our whiteboard
  5. A 3/4 on the door of our classroom.

Monday 5th September

We were so lucky to have a live performance of  Alice in Wonderland this morning. It was absolutely wonderful! My favourite part was when Alice grew so tall she was squashed in the Mad Hatter’s house, with her leg out of the door and her arm out of the roof. What part did you like the best?

I hope you all enjoyed the show!

Monday 5th September

Firstly, let me say a huge well done to all the children who were able to access the blog last week and tell me our secret password! I am so proud of how well you listened to your instructions on how to find our class blog!

Please see below tonight’s spelling words and remember Monday is a sentences day.

Alice in Wonderland

M&M productions have rescheduled our show for Monday! It will be Alice in Wonderland instead, they have also provided this for free as an apology for the cancellation.

We hope everything goes to plan and the children can enjoy the show on Monday 5th September.

Green Flag – Great News

I am delighted to share with you the fantastic news that we have been awarded our fourth Green Flag from Eco Schools Scotland. This is an outstanding achievement. Our whole school works so hard on Eco activities and last year they were led by some fantastic P7 pupils. Below is the quote from the letter we received:

“It was a pleasure to read and assess Inchinnan Primary School’s Green Flag application. It is clear that Eco-Schools is fully embedded at Inchinnan Primary School and demonstrates your whole school commitment to Learning for Sustainability and provision of opportunities for Outdoor Learning. The programme is obviously pupil led and the way that you have organised your various committees, as highlighted in your HMIe report, is to be commended. It was also very pleasing to hear how you are interacting with your local cluster on Eco-Schools as this is something we wish to encourage across all Local Authorities. Please pass on our congratulations to the whole school on the success of your ‘Our World Week’, and it is a pleasure to be able to renew Inchinnan Primary School’s Green Flag.”
