Eco Committee 2022-2023

Our Citizenship Committee  groups meet regularly with members of staff to identify areas of school improvement that they could lead.

This year our Eco Committee staff lead is Mrs Smith.

The committee are working towards our 6th Green Flag Award. They are responsible for sharing news about our school’s Eco-Schools work with the whole school and wider community.

Litter and Waste Committee 18-19

Litter and Waste Committee have been busy this term. They organised a whole school Litter Pick of our local community.  Schools and community groups play a vital role in keeping our towns, villages and countryside clean and tidy.

The Committee staff lead is Rev. Ann Knox.

Renfrewshire Community Clean Up provided the school with

*waste bags

*litter pickers

*high vis vests

  • gloves

They even removed all the litter after it had been collected.

All our pupils were responsible citizens and took an active part in helping our local environment. Well done everyone!

Our Assembly for that week focused on Spring Clean and the children learned about the damage and consequence of litter dropping in our country. They watched story video clips as well as poems about litter.

Litter and waste have organised and are due to announce their new inter-class recycling challenge. Pupils will be asked as a class to start recycling paper and plastic. The winning class will receive a very special award!

So far,  the Litter and Waste Committee, have created a litter picking rota and discussed ideas of how to encourage pupils to put their rubbish into the school bins. We have had some great ideas so far and look forward to implementing some of these in the coming months.
