Primary 4

Class Teacher:  Mrs Caldwell

Welcome to the Primary 4 class page!  We have made a fantastic start to the school year and are settling into our new routines very well.

We are very much enjoying making the classroom feel special and unique to our class.  Everyone has taken part in discussions and decision-making processes about our classroom helpers and class charter- we can’t wait for you to see these!

This term, we will be focusing lots on Co-op Learning with our groups.  Our initial social goal will be on attentive listening.  More information will follow, so keep an eye on Seesaw for regular updates!

Our Pupil Group is Numeracy Champs and we are very excited about our ideas for pupil-led learning and projects this year.

As we settle into our new classroom, we will make good use of a range of resources in numeracy that will help us to be active and challenged in maths learning.  We will also be exploring Talk for Writing as part of literacy this term.  Our first class novel is ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ by Roald Dahl and we love it so far!

This term, our outdoor PE will be on a Monday and our indoor PE will be on a Wednesday.  Marlon will also take us for outdoor learning on a Thursday.

Homework

All homework can now be accessed via Seesaw. Use your child’s Home Learning Code to view activities they need to complete.

A homework grid is issued on a 3 weekly basis on Seesaw. This includes core,  optional and extension activities. Core activities must be completed on a weekly basis. These include:

Literacy
  • Reading homework – everyone has an accelerated reading book home and should aim to read for 20 minutes daily.
Numeracy

A numeracy activity will be issued on Seesaw to be completed each week.

Here is an example of our homework grid.

Thank you for your support with homework.
