Primary 3

Class Teacher:  Mrs Smithsimmons & Miss Matthews

Welcome to the P3 class page.  We are all very excited to be starting a brand new year and learning lots of new things with our friends.

We have already made a fantastic start to the year and have begun our topic of The Ocean.  We are learning all about the different layers of the ocean and what sea creatures you might find there.  Later in the topic we will be looking at the environmental impact that polluting our oceans can have.

In maths, we have started looking at numbers up to 1000! We have also been learning all about 3D shape and are about to revise o’clock and half past times.

Our first talk for writing topic is ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’ and we are enjoying creating our own versions of this text.

We have a busy, fun-filled term and are looking forward to lots of exciting learning.

Homework

All homework can now be accessed via Seesaw. Use your child’s Home Learning Code to view activities they need to complete.

Maths – Children will be issued a piece of maths homework relating to work they have been doing in class each week. This will be issued on Friday, to be completed by the following Thursday.

There are additional homework tasks, which will rotate in 3 weekly cycles. These are optional and some include challenges which reward your child with 5 house points.

Thank you for your support with homework.

As your child progresses with their reading you may wish to try some of the strategies to make reading even more fun and interesting.
