Rights Respecting Schools

Rights Respecting Schools – North Ridge High School

We are very proud to be one of 3 schools in Renfrewshire which has been recognised with a Gold Rights Respecting School Award – the highest level of Rights Respecting Award.

This means that children’s rights are a core aspect of our school’s ethos and curriculum. We regularly discuss children’s rights within our classes and at whole school assemblies. A respect for children’s rights permeates all aspects of school life and we seek every opportunity to expand children’s knowledge on the UNCRC. In addition, we aim to build responsible citizens who are confident to speak out about, and take action for, children’s rights.

Our Rights Respecting Schools work is led by the RRS Pupil Parliament. While all pupils in the school learn about rights and take part in Rights Respecting activities, the pupil parliament have the responsibility for continuing to embed the work of our Gold award; thinking of fresh ways to approach our Rights Respecting schools work and implementing new Rights Respecting initiatives within our school.
