Welcome to our final term together in Primary 6 2026,
Our teachers are Mrs McGlinchey (Monday-Wednesday) and Miss McManus (Thursday and Friday)
Our P.E. days are Tuesday – outdoor at the pitch most days weather permitting and Friday – in the gym hall.
This term we will be covering rounders, sports day practise and some tennis.
On this day, please remember to come to school wearing our outdoor learning uniform – Grey/black jogging trousers or leggings, white polo shirt, red sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan, appropriate outdoor shoes and jacket. Please remember to come prepared for all weathers, we are hoping for nicer weather this term. Remove all jewellery please.
Class Dojo
We will continue to update and share information on our work in class through Class Dojo. Children are enjoying sharing some of their learning through their pupil profile and we also welcome news and events from home that you share on their profile page. Thank you.

Homework
Our final term is Personal Project time! The children have already chosen their subject and have begun to work on these. This task is a both at home challenge and a few slots available in class for research access. Our project will end with a personal talk to be shared with the class.
Children can continue to access TTRS at home to work on quick recall of times tables and IDL access if allocated.
AR reading books are encouraged home one per week to read as well as reading time allocated in class during guided reading lessons.
We appreciate your support as always.
Reminder
Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced!
Here are some of the things we will be learning this final term…
Numeracy:
This term we will continue to practice our times tables with TTRS access, in school and at home. We will also be exploring Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Data analysis (creating surveys, displaying results in a variety of ways) and sharing our opinions about the results, Patterns and Relationships between numbers, Symmetry and Predictability and Chance.
Literacy:
We will continue to cover spelling, grammar through our Talk 4 Write lessons and some handwriting. We continue to access Accelerated Reading for our homework and our class library books, with the children’s own reading interests in mind, available for weekly library and reading from enjoyment use. Our children will be encouraged to use some reference books or websites to read and scan for important information to add to their Personal Projects and use their own words and share some facts and importantly their opinions about the information they learn from the texts.
BGE:
We will also have opportunities for other learning areas including BSL (British Sign Language) Drama, Art and Technology – Digital and our Personal Project chosen subjects.

Health and Wellbeing: Our Emotional and Physical Wellbeing
We will continue to explore the Zones of Regulation programme this term. This is an interesting programme that assigns colours to our emotions and feelings and we are learning how to identify these as physical feelings in our body too.
We will also be learning about Substance misuse.
Along side our weekly PE lessons we will continue our weekly walk and outdoor learning opportunities to keep our learning active and varied.
We will also be looking at our RSHP lessons this term. The link is included below and Primary 6 lessons will come from second level, Progression 1 section. We will update weekly the lessons that are going to be covered.
