You can request to join here.

Homework

Homework will be issued weekly. Homework will be issued at the start of the week and should be completed by the end of the week.

It is at your discretion if you wish to complete homework and submissions will no longer be recorded.  Any time spent on learning at home is greatly appreciated!

Reminder

Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced!

Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term…

Literacy

We will be continuing with our weekly spelling and phonics.  The children will learn a new spelling rule each week and complete tasks throughout the week that reinforce this.  Talk for Writing will also continue and our focus this term is non-fiction writing. We will be completing tasks that will help us build up to writing our own information report.

Numeracy

In January we will start a short teaching block about Data and Analysis. This will include concepts such as gathering information to create tally charts, bar and line graphs. It will also look at interpreting information, and asking and answering questions from the graphs.

Later in the term, we will focus on multiplication and division.

We will re-enforce these concepts through Numbots and TTRS and by setting individual numeracy targets. All support and practise at home with number bonds, times tables and division facts is valuable and appreciated.

Will will also be starting Big Maths Beat That which is focussed on improving speed and accuracy of number bonds and times tables and will be revisiting Number Talk strategies. If you would like to find out more about ways to support your child at home with these please get in touch.

Health and Wellbeing

We will continue with our PATHS approach to teach social and emotional learning.  We will be focusing on kindness and compliments.

BGE

In January we will be working on our Scottish Themed Topic. This topic will involve learning about famous Scottish people, learning some Scottish dances and a poem to recite at our Bargarran Scots Verse Assembly on 4th February.
