Primary 4/3

Welcome to P4/3

This year our teachers are Mrs McPherson and Mrs Brown.

Our P.E. days are Monday and Thursday.

On these days, please remember to come to school with appropriate P.E kit to change into and all jewellery removed.

Class Dojo

Please join our class dojo to keep up to date with class news, photos and more! You can use dojo to view the points your child has been given and to view our class dojo story.

You can request to join here.

Homework

Homework will be issued weekly. Homework will be issued at the start of the week and should be completed by the end of the week. Homework diaries have log in details for various programmes to support learning.

It is at your discretion if you wish to complete homework and submissions will no longer be recorded.  Any time spent on learning at home is greatly appreciated!

Reminder

Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced!

Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term…

Literacy

We will be continuing with our weekly spelling and phonics.  The children will learn a new sound each week and complete tasks throughout the week that reinforce this.  Talk for Writing will also continue and our next story will be a ‘defeat the monster’ story using The Manor House, teaching us how to create suspense when writing!  All grammar will be taught via Talk for Writing.

Numeracy

In numeracy we will start by focusing on fractions and algebra.

Later in the term, we will focus on data analysis.

We will re-enforce these concepts through Numbots and TTRS (Times Table Rockstars)

Health and Wellbeing

We will continue with our PATHS approach to teach social and emotional learning.  We will be focusing on Food Health. We will also be taking a look at Zones for Regulation.

BGE

We will continue with Digital Literacy and will be taking part in an Electricity science topic.  We will also be focusing on music and French this term.  Our new topic will focus on the Viking in Scotland.
