Growth Mindset plays an important role in the life of our school, as we know that pupils who have a positive attitude towards their learning will make good progress, developing their confidence and resilience in order to fulfil their potential.
Growth Mindset is regularly discussed in class and at assembly and pupils are given regular opportunities to develop their growth mindset by approaching new challenges, examining mistakes and working in a range of contexts.
Growth Mindset has a prominent place in our school, exemplified through displays around the building.
At assembly, we give Growth Mindset Awards to pupils who show:
- Resilience
- Effort
- Attitude
Pupils are also encouraged to reflect on their attitude towards their work by self-assessing their level of effort. The charts below are used to facilitate this. These charts can also be found in your child’s homework diary.

Please take time to view the leaflet we have prepared which explains more about Growth Mindset and highlights our school approaches to Growth Mindset. There is also information on how you, as a parent or carer, can help your child develop a positive Growth Mindset too.
