This year our teacher is Mr Grant.
Our P.E. days are Wednesday and Friday.
Our outdoor learning day is a Thursday.
On these days, please remember to come to school wearing a more relaxed uniform – Grey/black trousers or skirt, white polo shirt, red sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan, appropriate outdoor shoes and jacket. On the rest of the days the uniform is a shirt and tie. Please remember to come prepared for all weathers!
Class Dojo 
Please join our class dojo to keep up to date with class news, photos and more! You can use dojo to view the points your child has been given and to view our class dojo story.
Microsoft Teams 
To help us continue to develop the skills we learned over remote learning, each class from P4-7 has a class Microsoft Team. This team will be used to issue homework each week. Pupils can use the team to access and submit their homework. Teachers will then provide feedback via Microsoft Teams. Pupils can access Microsoft Teams using their glow login and password. If you are unable to access Microsoft Teams at home, a paper copy of the homework will be issued in school.
Homework 
Homework will be issued on a Monday and is to be submitted on a Friday. Paper copies will be supplied for those who require one.
Each week there will be numeracy, literacy and reading homework. Reading books may be given out every second week depending on the length of the book. Pupils are expected to complete their reading pages in their own time in order to developed key reading skills and healthy habits.
Our tasks will vary between active tasks and written tasks.
Reminder
Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced!
Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term…
Literacy
We are working on extended pieces of writing, with a new focus on ‘Talk 4 Writing’ strategies. Our writing will cover a range of genres and will range across imaginative writing to functional pieces.
In spelling we will continue to learn a new spelling pattern weekly.
We are also covering a range of grammatical concepts to help us with our writing.
Guided reading tasks are completed each week where we will explore a range of reading strategies and concepts. We also look at formal comprehension pieces and test our understanding of unseen texts.
Numeracy
In numeracy this term we will be covering: Money, Time, Scale and Dimension, Chance and Probability and Data Handling.
We also conduct weekly number talk sessions and have introduced ‘open middle’ sessions where the children have the opportunity to work on their problem-solving skills.
Health & Wellbeing
In Health and Wellbeing we have been following the PAThS programme to learn about feelings and how to manage emotions in preparation for the transition to High School. We are also looking at substance misuse and making informed decisions. In PE we are focussing on Rounders and Sports day prep.
Broad General Education
This term we are focussing on Computing technologies like sequencing and coding. We are also preparing for our leavers’ assembly with regular song practices and rehearsals.
