Welcome to P5/4
This year our teacher is Mr Grant.
Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday.
On these days, please remember to come to school with appropriate P.E kit to change into and all jewellery removed. Also, those with long hair, please remember to bring a hair tie.

Homework
Homework will be issued weekly. Homework will be issued at the start of the week and should be completed by the end of the week. Homework diaries have log in details for various programmes to support learning.
It is at your discretion if you wish to complete homework and submissions will no longer be recorded. Any time spent on learning at home is greatly appreciated!
Reminder
Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced.
Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term…
Literacy
We will be continuing with our weekly spelling lessons, embedding the spelling rules throughout the week. The children will learn a new sound each week and complete tasks throughout the week that re-enforce this. Talk for Writing will also continue all grammar will be taught via Talk for Writing. The children will begin our Accelerated Reading program and this will be used for homework books as well.
Numeracy
In numeracy we will start by focusing on Place Value. We will then move onto Estimating and Rounding and then incorporating Addition and Subtraction.
Later in the term, we will focus on measurement and Multiplication and Division.
We will re-enforce these concepts through Numbots and TTRS.
Miss McManus will lead a separate Maths topic on a Tuesday including, shape and data handling.
Health and Wellbeing
We will continue with our PATHS approach to teach social and emotional learning. We will be focusing on Mindfulness and Growth Mindset.
BGE
We will be working on a project linked to Global Goal 15: Life on Land. We will also be looking at Digital Literacy, Cyber Resilience and Energy. This term, Drama and Art will be our focus in the arts.
