This week

This week primary 7b have went to the Civic Centre in Motherwell, we had lots of fun. We also had a movie afternoon as we won it’s good to be me, we had lots of sweets and it was great fun. It was a dress down day for world book day where the children dressed up as their favourite character from their favourite book.

This Week

This week we have been rehearsing for our performance at Motherwell Civic Centre. Our CD arrived today too. It looks and sounds great. They will be on sale soon….profits to go to our favoured charity. We visit during the day for a run through on Tuesday, hopefully this will settle our nerves!

We have been working hard researching on the different biomes around the world. We are working on effective research.

We have completed our maths assessments and moving on to symmetry and angles next!

Payment cards came today for our activity week. So much to work for and look forward to!

A Short Week

Yesterday we had assembly and we had our song practice. We chose ‘True Colours’ and are sounding better each time.

Today we had art and tried a still life we were showing shape with shading. This was difficult but most were able to show a growth mindset and improve.

Our Beat That Big Maths tests are improving too.

This week I have shown the children how to write on the blog…..prepare the children are taking over next week!!!!

Long Weekend

Another busy week in primary 7. We recorded our song this week with Chris from Reel Time Radio. The children enjoyed this new experience! Letters and ticket forms went out this week. Photos to follow!

We have moved on to time in maths. A quick revisit to telling the time and now moving on to reading time tables and calculating time durations.

Our Scottish dancing was great fun this week. Everyone looked great in their outfits and joined in with the fun. A few people tried haggis for the first time!

Our dojo winners this week were Alexis and Ailidh. Well done girls!

Our certificate winner for Effective Contributor was Alexis. A good week for her!

Our classroom is changing with new displays and we have had the chance to present our ‘Famous Scot’ project. A good effort all round, well done.

Third Term

A belated Happy New Year to the family and friends of all in Primary 7b. I hope you had a lovely break, it seems a long time ago now!

We have been working extremely hard on our maths looking at division with single and double digits, a struggle at first most we have cracked it! We had a visitor from Cumbernauld Academy in to watch us during maths time this week and he was most impressed. Well done!

We have been reading, writing and reciting Scots poetry. We managed to use Scots language to create unique poems of our own. We were also first runner up at the Burns Competition! Fantastic effort from everyone!

Our Scottish dancing is coming along and we are looking forward to our ceilidh  and Burns Supper next week.

We have begun talking about choices for our activity week in June but it is still a while away and there is plenty of hard work in between!

Our dojo winner this week was Chloe and Kirstie earned our Responsible Citizen award. Well done girls!

Not long now….

Our dojo winner this week was Louie with a close runner up Lexi. Well done!

Our capacity winner was Lucy. Well done.

Not very many sleeps until Santa comes and primary seven are still working hard!

We enjoyed the excitement of the first British astronaut being sent to the International Space Station and managed to see some of the launch. We then created fact files on this incredible man. Hopefully this will inspire our budding scientists!

We wrote Space Adventures focussing on paragraphs, connectives and details with exciting results!

We have moved on to long multiplication and continue to work hard.

I will take the opportunity to wish all the children in the class and their families a very happy Christmas! : )

Christmas Show

Another busy week has come to and end. Primary 7 can hold their heads up high knowing that they put on an outstanding performance this week as part of the school show- and particularly this afternoon for the rest of the children. Well done! I am so proud of you all : )

Our data handling topic has come to an end and we begin revision of our multiplication tables. Remember the best way to learn is to have fun! There are lots of fun tables games on line to keep you on your toes! (try Topmarks)

We are well underway with our Mars explorer designs and working well in groups.

Watching News Round every day is proving to be a great success. Note taking and summary skills are developing as well as a good general knowledge of current affairs.

REMEMBER!!!!! It is our Christmas party on Monday afternoon so bring your party clothes : )
