There has been a change to the Book Fair timetable. P4 will now purchase their books on Thursday 9th March and P5 will purchase theirs on Wednesday 8th March. Apologies for this change.
We have had confirmation from Scholastic that they can deliver the books for our Book Fair next week. Please accept our apologies for the change to dates but Scholastic are unsure what happened at their end.
Pupils will have the opportunity to peruse the books on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th March and will be able to purchase their books on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th March.
P1a, P1b, P2, P2/3, P3 and P5 will be able to purchase their books on Wednesday 8th March.
P4/5, P4, P5/6, P6, P6/7 and P7 will be able to purchase their books on Thursday 9th March.
We hope you will support this event with the same enthusiasm as last year!
Just a reminder that World Book Day is tomorrow and children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
On Friday the Award Winning Author Stuart Reid is coming to Whitelees to do a hilarious fun filled book reading to the whole school in the morning and a creative writing workshop with the primary 4’s and 5’s in the afternoon.
As has happened in the last two years he will be selling his books on the day which he will sign and personally dedicate to each child. Books will be available for £7 each, two for £12 three for £17 or a special offer price of four for £20.
This is always a fabulous event and Stuart has the children completely engrossed in his stories!
Currently the Book Fair have not delivered our books, please accept our apologies for this. As soon as we have an update from the company we will let you know.
World Book Day is on Thursday 2nd March this year. As you will already know the children can come to school on Thursday dressed as their favourite book character. We have the added bonus of 5 x £5 vouchers for the Book Fair to give away to the 5 most creative costumes!

Mrs Hunter hosted her monthly Tea Party today for all the hard working, well behaved children who were successful in the Tea Party draw and for those who received a special invitation in their Birthday card! Well done to everyone!
They all enjoyed their special treat especially the chocolate cake!!!
Due to the success of last year’s event the Book Fair is returning to Whitelees again this year and will be here next week!
Your child has already been given a leaflet detailing all the books for sale!

Children will all be given a World Book Day book token on the day which will give them £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more! If they opt not to use their token at the Book Fair they can take it home and use it elsewhere.
If possible could you please try to give your child the correct money as we only have a limited amount of change?
