BOOK FAIR UPDATE

Unfortunately, the Book Fair is being collected earlier than anticipated therefore we would ask that all book purchases are made by midnight on Sunday 5th March and all wish lists are returned on Monday 6th March to enable us to put together the orders from the Book Fair before it is collected.  Any payments made and wish lists returned after this date will be unable to be fulfilled.

Please note when you pay online for your child’s book(s) you are only able to make a payment, you are not able to choose their book.  Once payment had been made you will be given a reference number.  You must write the reference number on the bottom half of the wish list and return this to us to enable us to fulfil the order.  We are unable to fulfil any orders without a wish list or payment.

Apologies for bringing this date forward however this is out with our control.

Many thanks for your continued support and co-operation

BOOK FAIR

We’re delighted to say our Book Fair is back!

We have had to make a few changes due to the current Covid situation:

  • Children will sanitise before and after they visit the book fair.

  • To minimise contamination we are taking online payment only.

  • Children will visit the Book Fair with their class Teacher and can have a look at the books and choose what they might like. They will be given a wish list with the name and price of the book(s) they might like. Your child will bring this home to enable you to purchase online if you wish. Please return the wish list to the school once you have placed your order to enable us to distribute the books when they are delivered.

  • Every child was given a World Book Day token which can be redeemed against any book in the Book Fair (there is a box on the wish list to tick if you wish to use this).

  • You can place orders online until 4.00pm on Monday 28th February.

You can access the online payment system using the link below:https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents

Please note purchasing books is entirely optional.

WORLD BOOK DAY

Just a reminder that World Book Day is tomorrow and children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

On Friday the Award Winning Author Stuart Reid is coming to Whitelees to do a hilarious fun filled book reading to the whole school in the morning and a creative writing workshop with the primary 4’s and 5’s in the afternoon.

As has happened in the last two years he will be selling his books on the day which he will sign and personally dedicate to each child.  Books will be available for £7 each, two for £12 three for £17 or a special offer price of four for £20.

This is always a fabulous event and Stuart has the children completely engrossed in his stories!

Currently the Book Fair have not delivered our books, please accept our apologies for this.  As soon as we have an update from the company we will let you know.

WHITELEES BOOK FAIR

scholastic-book-fair

Due to the success of last year’s event the Book Fair is returning to Whitelees again this year and will be here next week!

Your child has already been given a leaflet detailing all the books for sale!

Pupils will be given the opportunity to have a look at the books on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March and will be able to purchase their books on Friday 3rd and Monday 6th March.

P1a, P1b, P2, P2/3, P3 and P4 will be able to purchase their books on Friday 3rd March and P4/5, P5, P5/6, P6, P6/7 and P7 will be able to purchase their books on Monday 6th March.

P7 will be able to have a look and purchase on Monday 6th March as they will be in Kilbowie next week!

Children will all be given a World Book Day book token on the day which will give them £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more!  If they opt not to use their token at the Book Fair they can take it home and use it elsewhere.

If possible could you please try to give your child the correct money as we only have a limited amount of change?

We hope you will support this event with the same enthusiasm as last year.

Thank you once again for your continued support.
