WE’RE OPEN!

NLC expect all schools and nurseries to be open as normal tomorrow.  It might be a good idea to have spare socks/tights in bags in case feet get wet on the way to school.  Please take care on the way as pavements may be difficult to walk on.  Take your time please!

Please keep your eye on the North Lanarkshire Council website for any further updates:

and on twitter, @nlc winter from 7.00am tomorrow.

School lunches will be provided although there may be some changes to the menu.

We will update as soon as we can with the rescheduled dates

for events programmed to take place last week.

A HUGE thank you to our Janitor Mr McKelvie and the local community who have pulled together to clear paths and the school entrance on time for our return tomorrow.

We are all looking forward to hearing everyone’s adventures in the snow!

PARENTS NIGHT CANCELLATION

Unfortuantely, Whitelees Parent/Teacher meetings scheduled to take place tomorrow (Thursday 1st March) are cancelled due to the severe weather warning issued.  All NLC schools are also closed tomorrow.

An alternative date for Parent/Teacher meetings will be agreed and we will inform you once this has been arranged.

Thank you once again for your patience and support.

SCHOOL LUNCH

To celebrate World Book Day we will be serving a special lunch on Thursday 1st March. The menu is as follows:

Dragon Soup (Lentil Soup)
Gruffalo Pie (Steak Pie)
Horrid Henry Hot Dog
Gingerbread Man Cake
Sandwiches and Baked Potatoes

Don’t forget children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

HEAD LICE

We have had an outbreak of Head Lice in the school.  Please check your child’s hair and treat if necessary.

FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

We had a colourful assembly today with Rainbow Rights Day but that didn’t stop us celebrating success!

Well done to everyone who received a weekly Class Dojo and Confident Individual certificate, we are very proud of you!

Happy Birthday to everyone who had a Birthday in the last week!

Sophie earned a rosette for her riding skills, Lewis and Matthew showed us their fabulous dance moves and Adam earned a bronze certificate for completing 50 English and Maths lessons.  It certainly is good to be us!  Well done everyone!
