WORLD BOOK DAY

Whitelees Primary School is looking forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of World Book Day on the Friday 4th March 2022. This year the message for all children is ‘You are a Reader’ and we are creating a day filled with exciting, celebratory ways to promote reading for pleasure. For 2022 our theme is ‘Curl up with your Favourite Book’ and children will be invited to talk about their favourite book in their class.

At Whitelees, we are aware of reducing the cost of the school day so the children have several options to celebrate this day with no spending required. They can come into school wearing comfy clothes to curl up with their favourite book or they are welcome to dress up as someone or something from their favourite book.

We can not wait to celebrate World Book Day 2022 in style!

BOOK FAIR

We’re delighted to say our Book Fair is back!

We have had to make a few changes due to the current Covid situation:

  • Children will sanitise before and after they visit the book fair.

  • To minimise contamination we are taking online payment only.

  • Children will visit the Book Fair with their class Teacher and can have a look at the books and choose what they might like. They will be given a wish list with the name and price of the book(s) they might like. Your child will bring this home to enable you to purchase online if you wish. Please return the wish list to the school once you have placed your order to enable us to distribute the books when they are delivered.

  • Every child was given a World Book Day token which can be redeemed against any book in the Book Fair (there is a box on the wish list to tick if you wish to use this).

  • You can place orders online until 4.00pm on Monday 28th February.

You can access the online payment system using the link below:https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents

Please note purchasing books is entirely optional.
