FairyTaylor of New Stevenson
During the last week before we finished up for the Christmas Holidays, we have prepared a short video to say ‘Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year’ to all of our Taylor High School Community.
Pupils and staff from the Music department have performed and edited the lyrics of the original ‘Fairytale of New York” to create fun and topical ‘Lockdown Lyrics’ to spread some Christmas cheer during this unprecedented time.
In the beginning, we shared a number of events that Taylor Pupils were involved in to raise money for charity or to help those who are in extra need due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
These things include:
-
- Food banks/Hampers
- Macmillan Coffee Morning
- Making Face Masks
- Christmas Jumper day… and many more!
We are so proud of all our pupils at Taylor who have made a difference to so many people this Christmas.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Well done everyone, Stay Safe!
Mr. McCormick’s Retirement
Today marks a very sad day for all staff and pupils at Taylor High as we said goodbye to our wonderful and thoughtful Headteacher, Mr McCormick.
Mr McCormick has been Headteacher of Taylor High School for 23 years and will be greatly missed by the whole Taylor Community. We gathered outside, socially distanced, to clap our goodbyes and wish him well for whatever the future may hold. We celebrated with a fantastic cake made by the Home Economics department and some bagpipes. We found it difficult but not impossible to give Mr McCormick the send off he deserves.
Everyone wishes you well and Good Luck for the future.
Virtual talks this week
We are very excited to announce an upcoming live broadcast for football fans everywhere! Please join us for England football Manager and author of Anything is Possible, Gareth Southgate, and Youtube gamer and entertainer, Sharky, to talk about Gareth’s England football career and insight – all in partnership with Penguin Talks!
Date: Tuesday 1st December
Time: 16:00 – 17:00
Speakers: Gareth Southgate, England Football Manager and Sharky, Youtube Gamer & Entertainer
In this event, Gareth Southgate is joined by Sharky, to reflect on the experiences and lessons of Gareth’s career. He will share how young people can thrive and make the most of their lives, by being brave, being kind and following their dreams.
The talk will be webinar style and so attendees will not have their cameras or microphones on. There will be a Q+A chat function where students can ask their questions, which will be moderated by Penguin staff.
Gareth Southgate has had a playing career spanning 500 senior appearances. He has represented England 57 times, captained both Aston Villa and Middlesbrough to League Cup final success, and is currently England manager of the senior men’s team. His new book ‘Anything is Possible’, is about how to achieve your dreams and ambitions.
Would you like to submit your questions for Gareth?! We are working with our schools network to provide your students the chance to ask their questions for Gareth on camera! If you are interested in submitting your questions for Gareth via video then let us know at:
