KEEPING IN TOUCH @ ST. MICHAEL’S
There are a number of ways we aim to keep in contact with Parents, Guardians and Carers.
- Email – all letters and school correspondence is now being sent out via email. Please check your inbox regularly.
- Text message – any urgent messages will be sent out via the mobile number you have provided on your Emergency Contact detail form.
- Xpressions app – You can download this to your phone or tablet to receive notifications of correspondence from the school. There is no cost to yourself or the school. Your e-mail details must match those held by the school.
- School Blog – regular blogs will be posted on what is happening in school.
- Twitter – You can now follow us on twitter@StMichaelsPNS. There is a link to the Twitter page on the sidebar of this blog.
Advent Appeal 2016
Advent begins this Sunday. During the four weeks of Advent, we will prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas. This year, as part of our Advent appeal, we will be collecting for the local foodbanks.

Snowman Soup Factory
Today, Primary 6 made Snowman Soup for the Christmas Fayre on Monday night. There was a little left over, so we had a cup of our own!
Open Afternoon
This afternoon, we had an Open Afternoon for parents who wish to bring their children to St Michael’s Primary School. Our children from Primary 6 and 7, provided a tour of the school for the parents who came along.
World Landmarks
Primary 6 have been learning about the seven Continents of the world, the countries within them and their landmarks. Today, they all chose a landmark, sketched it then used media of their choice to add colour to their piece of artwork.
In-Service Day at St Patrick’s
Our teaching staff went to St Patrick’s in Kilsyth for their in-service day. Whilst they were there, they heard from guest speaker Myra Young and they met with colleagues from our cluster schools to discuss Assessment and Moderation.
School Correspondance
The following letters were sent out today via email to the parents of the children involved in these events.
School Correspondance
In an effort to cut costs for the school, from this week, all correspondence including letters and newsletters will be e-mailed to all parents. Many thanks for your co-operation in passing on your details to the school and we hope that you will find this new system most beneficial, it will certainly reduce the crumpled letters in the bottom of school bags!
There is also a “parents app” available for download to your smartphone/tablet which we will also being using for correspondence. This will have no cost to yourself or the school.
The app is called ‘xpressions’ and the log in will require the same e-mail address that you have provided to the school. We would advise you to download this as soon as possible.
