The photographs above, illustrate very talented young ladies who have won various awards for dance and one for donating to a very worthwhile charity. Well done girls, from all of your friends at St Bart’s.

I hope that that our entire school community have enjoyed a relaxing break over the week long October holiday and return relaxed and ready for work! Mark and Lucy Millar have again, supported our whole school excursion to the Pantomime. We will be visiting the SECC this year on Wednesday 18th December. We can’t wait…A huge thank you to Mark and Lucy for this very generous gift! Details will follow nearer the time.

Thank you in advance for supporting our new playground arrangements, these are necessary to support effective health and safety of our pupils and will contribute to a much more streamlined entry and exit to school.

The week ahead looks like this:

On Monday, The Fire Service will be visiting us at 11am and the visit is part of of our Developing the Young Workforce programme. We look forward to welcoming them to our wonderful school.

On Tuesday, the Book Fayre will be collected today. Thank you to everyone who bought books etc from this service and appreciate your contributions, some of which will help top up the school library.A huge thank you to our parent helpers who assisted children with their choices. Your support is very much appreciated.

On Wednesday, Mrs McLean will conduct a pre visit to West Tarbert farm so that our pupils can enjoy a a safe and enjoyable excursion there as part of our Developing the Young Workforce activities and opportunities.

On Thursday, I will be attending a Family Group meeting at St Edward’s Primary in Airdrie. I am especially looking forward to a ‘show round’ this fabulous new school, in addition to working with colleagues to improve outcomes for all of our pupils. Mrs Crielly will attend a ‘Developing Number’ course and we look for to hearing about new developments in this area. Primary 5 will be visited by Sally Wilkinson today as part of the fabulous Kodaly input that develops musicality in our pupils. Our annual Halloween disco takes place this evening. Please arrange for your child to buy tickets from the school office. A huge thank you to our Parent Council members who have organised this event- please phone the school office if you are able to volunteer a few hours of your time to supervise this event. School discos etc are reliant on parent helpers and lack of supervision could potentially result in cancellation. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

On Friday, we look forward to our weekly whole school assembly and in celebrating the achievements of our ‘Pupils of the week’.

Mrs Bolland
