IN THE HEART OF TOWNHEAD
SINCE 1950

Whether you are a pupil, parent, carer, member of the wider St Bartholomew’s parish community, or someone visiting us from cyber-space, a very warm welcome to St Bartholomew’s Primary School!  Our website aims to provide you with all the information you might require about our school.  However, if there’s any information you can’t find, please do not hesitate to contact the school office – we’ll be happy to help in whatever way we can.

As outlined in our mission statement, St Bartholomew’s Primary School endeavours to build a stimulating, caring learning community, based on Gospel values, in which all pupils and staff have the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential. We are fully committed to working in partnership with parents, carers, clergy and the wider community to ensure St Bartholomew’s provides the highest quality of education across all curricular areas, with the needs of the whole child – spiritual, physical, academic, emotional and social – being recognised, nurtured and developed. Please take the time to read our school aims, located in ‘About our School’: they unpack our ‘mission’ into fuller statements and form the bedrock upon which everything we do in St Bartholomew’s is built.

Within a few minutes of stepping foot inside St Bartholomew’s Primary School, you will come face to face with an incredible bunch of enthusiastic, polite and hard-working children who are, quite simply, OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD!  We are extremely proud of our pupils and actively promote high aspirations and ambitions to support them in developing into successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens, not only within the school, but in the local, wider and global community.  Achievements across all areas of the curriculum are continually recognised and celebrated.  You can click on the ‘Success’ icon at 3.00pm every Friday to find out who the proud Pupils of the Week are, as well as the week’s winning House and ‘Cool Class’.  Each class also have their own webpage which the children use to showcase a selection of things they have been learning.  Class pages can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Learning’ pencil at the bottom of the homepage.

Our pupils are supported in their learning by a fantastic team of extremely dedicated and hard-working staff, both teaching and non-teaching.  There’s a diverse array of knowledge and expertise amongst the St Bartholomew’s staff (as well as amongst our wider school community) and this allows us to offer a wide range of quality learning opportunities for our children, both within and out with the school day.

The school is extremely fortunate to have a very active and committed Parent Council and Parent Forum who work tirelessly for the benefit of the pupils of St Bartholomew’s.  We also have many individuals in the wider St Bartholomew’s parish community who support us on an ongoing basis, as well as friends from further afield who keep in touch with the school and assist us in a variety of ways.

We hope you enjoy exploring our website and that you will make a point of visiting it regularly to find out what’s happening in St Bartholomew’s.  It’s often said, ‘You can’t have too many friends’ and that’s certainly a philosophy we have here at St Bartholomew’s.  Please support and get involved in the life of our school in whatever way you can.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
