Hello Primary 7 🙂!

I hope you are all having a nice week and trying your best to spend a few hours a day doing some school work.

Monday 27th April- Primary 7

Hello Primary 7,

It’s Monday again which means it’s time to get back to work. I hope you are all ready to learn.

Let’s begin our week by saying a special prayer to our Guardian Angel to continue to protect us and keep us safe,

Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here;
Ever this day, be at my side
To light and guard
To rule and guide.

Amen

Remember there is no right or wrong way to work when learning at home. Learning takes place in a variety of ways and I know lots of you have been working on developing your life skills which is so important and extremely beneficial in a time like this. Some of you have been painting, cooking, cleaning and helping out with younger siblings, I am very impressed. Keep up the good work! ❣️

I know how much you all love a competition, so why not take part in our road safety competition? Have a little look on St Barbara’s Twitter page to find out more details.

Have a marvellous Monday and remember if you need me for anything please do not hesitate to contact me.

Friday 24th April- Primary 7

Happy Friday Primary 7! 😀

The weekend is nearly here! You have worked hard this week and should be very proud of yourselves. Thank you to all the parents, you have been doing a great job supporting your children and helping them to get the best out of their learning during these difficult times.

Who enjoyed yesterday’s riddles? Did you manage to work out the answers?

I have included the answers below:

  1. What is full of holes but still holds water?   A sponge
  2. What becomes wetter the more it dries?   A towel
  3. What belongs to you but others use it more than you? Your name
  4. What goes up but never comes down?   Your age
  5. What kind of coat can only be put on when wet? A coat of paint

Here are some brain teasers to get our brains engaged today, I will post the answers to these brain teasers later today.

Thursday 23rd April- Primary 7

Good morning my super sevens 🌟,

How are you all? I hope you are all working hard and helping your parents out at home.

As always, let’s begin the day with our morning prayer. 🙏🏻

To get our brains switched on this morning I thought we could begin with a few fun riddles:

  1. What is full of holes but still holds water?
  2. What becomes wetter the more it dries?
  3. What belongs to you but others use it more than you?
  4. What goes up but never comes down?
  5. What kind of coat can only be put on when wet?

These should get your brains working today and I will post the answers tomorrow morning. I had good fun trying to work them out, you all know how much I love riddles. Good luck!

Wednesday 22nd April- Primary 7

Good morning Primary 7, we are half way through the first week of term 4. Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun? 🙂 I hope you are all awake, had your breakfast and ready to start your day.

Today I have included some more learning tasks for you to work on. Well done to everyone who has been completing these already, I would love to hear how you are getting on with the activities that you have chosen. Remember you can comment here, post on Twitter or email me a copy of your completed tasks.

Remember to say your daily prayers and continue to thank God for keeping you and your family safe. Say a Hail Mary and Our Father today, I would be really impressed if you could try to say these in Spanish as I know you regularly practise this in assembly.

Here is the PowerPoint about Vincent Van Gogh that will support you with your research task this afternoon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and keep smiling! 😀

I thought this was a very good image to help inspire all the pupils who say, “I can’t draw” or “I am rubbish at drawing”. Give today’s art activity your best shot.

Tuesday 21st April- Primary 7

Good morning Primary 7, I hope you all managed to access yesterday’s activities easily. The sun is shining again today which always puts a big smile on everyone’s face, so let’s get to work! ☀️

I have uploaded another document that details today’s tasks, remember to try your best to work through the set tasks however it is extremely important that you take some breaks and get out in the sunshine. If you have any questions or issues accessing the resources for today’s activities feel free to email me, sreid@st-barbaras.n-lanark.sch.uk

Tuesday 21st April

Let’s begin our day as we always do with our morning prayer. Close your eyes and remember to keep all of the NHS frontline staff in your payers, they are doing an amazing job.

Here is the First News newspaper article that you will need to access to do today’s reading task.

Good morning Primary 7

Good morning Primary 7! I hope you all had a great Easter break with your family, the sunshine made it so much better didn’t it? It feels strange not going back into the classroom after the holidays however I am sure your brains are ready to focus and continue with home learning.

Remember the activities that are planned for you are suggestions and don’t worry if you don’t get through all the activities. It is important that we keep working but that you take plenty of breaks and get outside and enjoy the sunshine when you can.

Please see the attached document below that will set out today’s tasks for you.

20.04.20

Work will be uploaded here each day for you to access. It can be completed in the jotters that you were provided with from your learning pack. Remember any work you wish to upload should be done so under your class name and if you would like to share any videos or pictures of you completing any of the tasks you have been set you can do so via Twitter. Have fun, work hard and if you need anything you can contact me by email sreid@st-barbaras.n-lanark.sch.uk.

Let’s start today with our morning prayer, close your eyes and say a prayer to God thanking him for the special people in your lives.

Have a great day and try your best!

Mrs Butler 🙂

Enjoy your Easter holidays Primary 7!

Good afternoon my super sevens 🌟,

I hope you have all tried to complete today’s tasks, remember to post any pictures you have taken on Twitter.

I would like to congratulate Connor Ward for winning this weeks Sum Dog competition. This was a tricky competition and you smashed it. Well done, you should be extremely proud of yourself! I will be posting lots more maths competitions in the coming weeks. Let’s see who can beat our reigning champion, Connor 🏆.

I would like to wish you all a very happy and holy Easter break. I know this school holiday will be extremely different from previous holidays but it is important that we make the most of them by spending time with our family, get outside when possible and do lots of fun activities to keep us busy. Try not to spend too much time on computer games etc. Here are pictures of some Easter craft ideas.

Let us take a moment to remember the true meaning of Easter. Easter is a time when we remember that Jesus died for our sins. In the week leading up to Easter Sunday we celebrate Holy Week. During this week we prepare for the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Try to spend time each day of Holy Week saying a special little prayer. I have attached a PowerPoint that explains a bit about each day of Holy Week and why it is important.

Holy Week

Don’t eat too many chocolate eggs and please remember to stay safe. Speak to you all soon.
